Xgard offers four different sensor concepts (electrochemical, pellistor, infrared and thermal conductivity) so you can choose exactly what you need for your site. In addition Xgard is available in flameproof, intrinsically safe or safe area formats for use in all environments, whatever the classification.

 

Xgard Type 1

Exia Intrinsically Safe toxic and oxygen gas detector using an electrochemical sensor within an Xgard junction box, which also contains the amplifier/transmitter to provide a 2-wire 4 to 20mA output. Operating temperature -40 to +50°C.

 

Xgard Type 2

Exd Flameproof toxic and oxygen gas detector using an electrochemical sensor within an Xgard junction box, which also contains the amplifier/transmitter to provide a 2-wire 4 to 20mA output. Operating temperature -20 to +50°C.

 

Xgard Type 3

Exd Flameproof flammable gas detector using a poison resistant pellistor within an Xgard junction box, which also contains the terminals to provide a 3-wire mV Wheatsone Bridge output. Operating temperature -40 to +80°C.

Xgard Type 4

Exd Flameproof flammable gas detector using a poison resistant pellistor within a 316 stainless steel housing attached to an Xgard junction box (aluminium), which also contains the terminals to provide a 3-wire mV Wheatsone Bridge output. Operating temperature -20 to +150°C.

 

Xgard Type 5

Exd Flameproof flammable gas detector using a poison resistant pellistor within an Xgard junction box, which also contains an amplifier to provide a 3-wire 4-20mA output. Operating temperature -40 to +55°C.

 

Xgard Type 6

Exd Flameproof gas detector using a thermal conductivity sensor within an Xgard junction box, which also contains an amplifier to provide a 3-wire 4-20mA output. Operating temperature +10 to +55°C.
